A bit about Exotics

The Exotic is an extremely loving and affectionate, playful and curious, sweet and comical kitty. They like to follow you around to see what you are up to and will be the first to investigate any new box or bag that comes into the house. They remain very kitten-like in both temperment and appearence, however they also really enjoy sitting with you and catching up on the latest episode of your favorite show while simultaneously recieving lots of petting , love and affection. They have a short dense coat, that will only require occasional brushing (which they adore) or grooming to keep them looking and feeling in top shape. The Exotic breed was created by crossing an American short hair with a Persian bacically resulting in short-haired Persians. Occasionally however we end up with what you can call either a long-haired Exotic or a Persian. Their coats require a bit more work which is more than offset by their stunning appearence, including tufted feet and ears. This is not a cat for people who like cats because of their independant nature. Exotic's are very personable and want to be with you, doing what you're doing and are sure to become a true member of the family.

As you can see from some of our pictures our kittens are raised entirely in an 'in home' environment. Never crated (except as newborns for safety) they grow up with constant appreciation of their natural curiosity.

All of our cats are purebred and C.F.A. registered. and all kittens come with first shots and health certificates. We provide PKD and FELV negative, quality Exotic Short and Long-haired Cats at affordable prices and are conveniently located in North Florida.

About De-clawing

Whiskerface Cattery Completely Opposes De-Clawing

While this is ultimately a pet-owners personal choice, it is a procedure that is illegal in many states and countries for a reason. It is extremely painful as it requires the surgical amputation of your Fur-baby's last knuckle. It can also cause severe psychological damage as well leading to a kitty that bites in fear because it has been left defenseless. Many cats that have had this done also will not use the litterbox afterwards because it is too painful leading them to be given to shelters. And the same way that people complain about phantom pain after an amputation Kitties also feel that pain forever. There are also many alternatives making this completely unnecessary. Just keeping Kitty's nails trimmed and providing an alternative, in the form of a cat tree or scratching post will keep your furniture safe. Cats will and NEED to scratch. It is not done to sharpen their nails but to shed the worn out sheaths of their claws and even to spread their scent so they feel at home. All of our cats and kittens well being is extremely important to us both here and in their future forever homes so we ask that anyone considering this as an option to please not contact us.
